How to hang cornice board to wall.
Lay the cornice board face down on a work surface.
Of course i could not find a picture from this step so i drew a diagram above.
Cut a 1 x 2 strip of wood just shorter than the full length of your completed cornice box.
Place a spirit level on top of the board and adjust the angle until the cornice is level.
Measure from the bottom edge up to the top of the keyhole.
The wall mounting brackets are the ones in blue in the diagram.
Hold the cornice board over the window or on the wall centering it on the curtain rod.
Mount it to the wall above the window where you ll be hanging the cornice using a level and 2 wood screws.
Unless you happen to be screwing into a stud use drywall anchors and then put in your screws.

Hold the cornice board above the window at the location you want to install it.
Have one person hold the cornice board up to decide the height and then mark where the d hooks need to be hung.
As you can see we hung the standard curtain rod at this point too and put the curtains on.
Before attaching your side pieces to the front board you will want to attach your brackets that will mount your cornice box to the wall to the side pieces as well.
Lay the batting on a table counter or floor and then place the cornice board on top front side down.
Cut a piece of low tack.
Be sure to attach to studs and not just dry wall.
Pull the batting to the back and staple trimming the excess as you go.
