Make a 1 mark from the edge on top of the gable trim.
Install rake trim metal roof.
Align the first metal roofing panel so that it overlaps the edging by 1 2 to 3 4 of an inch and is square to the roof.
I ll also mark on the panel so i know where to fasten the z trim.
With your snips cut away the outer outline.
Be sure the larger edge is laid so that the small edge of the next panel will overlap it.
Make a 90 degree mark at the drip edge and across to the edge of the gable.
Next cut it to length.
Mark a parallel line at the 1 mark.
We will position this on the roof so that we can fasten it to the roof deck and install the rake gable trim.
Before we put the gable trim on we need to put tape seal on top of the z trim to make.
Installing this type of trim is a bit easier than installing rake trim.
Here are some overall installation steps using fasteners.
Align the center bend of the ridge cap directly over the center line of the roof ridge.
The last step is to use screws again between 12 and 24 inches apart to fasten the eave trim in place.
You can then apply tape seal to the bottom and fasten it to the roof deck.
Place the first screw.
Using your previously locked t bevel draw a line from the 1 mark inwards towards the drip edge.
With the rake trim in place i m going to slide the z trim underneath and make a mark on the roof deck so i know where to install it.
Install the roofing screws vertically along each rib in the panel.
While eave trim does need to be cut and folded to fit the fascia and gable it requires minimal angling to make a proper fit.
