Diagnosis if all of the door locks are inoperative start your diagnosis at the fuse box. This must be parallel to the factory door lock rod. Then use your test light or digital meter to check for power and ground at the connector when you operate the lock unlock switch. Screw the actuator onto the bracket.

To unlock the doors the switch reverses the polarity of the voltage applied to the solenoid. Note the bracket screwed onto the door frame. An inoperative power door lock can be caused by the switch solenoid wiring problem or mechanical problem within the linkage of the affected door. Replacement of the door latch mechanism is the only reliable long term solution.

If the actuator now moves freely the door latch mechanism is sticky or binding. Locate a good spot to mount the bracket.
